Everyone buys and wears clothes, which means our dollars can really make a huge impact in this area. Of course we want to look and feel great in the clothes we buy and wear, that’s a given. But these clothing brands go beyond that! When you buy from them, you can know you’re helping create more good in the world (and not just by looking cute!) Below are a handful of clothing companies that support worthy causes.
clothing companies that support worthy causes: Olivela
Olivela isn’t a clothing brand, but rather a retailer. But when you shop there, you’re helping them donate money to (largely children’s causes like) CARE, Malala Fund, VH1 Save the Music Foundation, Too Young To Wed and GOOD+ Foundation. Because they are a retailer rather than a brand, you can shop all kinds of name brands. Here are some of my favorites:
clothing companies that support worthy causes: TOM’S
Of course, I had to include Tom’s in this list, because they are the largest company that gives one pair of shoes to a person in need for every pair purchased. And while they started out with one distinct style (that’s still available today!) they’ve really expanded their styles and line of products. Here are some of my current favorites:
clothing companies that support worthy causes: H&M
H&M operates the H&M Foundation, a global not-for-profit that has run several wildly successful charitable campaigns. Their organization focuses a handful of areas, including: education, water, equality and the planet. Recently they started recycling clothing, raised funds to help women worldwide gain equality as well as helping provide education to refugee children. Their mission is:
OUR MISSION IS TO ACT AS A CATALYST FOR
POSITIVE CHANGE FOR PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES.
WE ENABLE REAL IMPACT THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS
WITH AMBITIOUS GOALS
clothing companies that support worthy causes: Target
Target is another retailer — not a brand nor specific to just clothes — that I felt was worth including in this list because of all of their charitable donations. In 2017 alone Target donated $217 million dollars to local and national causes, like field trip, soccer and public safety grants, as well as Arts and Social Services grants.
